Bergner is so much more. Not content with merely being a leading light in the kitchenware sector, the company also collaborates with various NGOs and non-profits that are working daily to aid people who, for whatever reason, need support and/or assistance.
The most recent example of this lies in Bergner's contribution to 'Sonrisas de Bombay', a charitable NGO that centres its actions on the suburbs of the city of Mumbai. There some 60% of the city's population live in conditions of squalor, poverty and exclusion.
In these areas where 'Sonrisas de Bombay' works, even the most basic of human rights are absent, while there is very little chance of living a decent life.
A lack of financial resources, the living dictions for many families and the limited opportunities force children into seeking resources for themselves, working or begging.
Many of these children find themselves exploited or fall prey to child traffickers. In order to continue improving the quality of life of these children, Bergner has been actively supporting this project over the last three years by donating a portion of the profits from the sale of certain products. This collaboration has enabled the funding of eight pre-schools, meaning that nearly 250 children have been able to attend school as a result of this association. Education is the key tool to access opportunities and ensure a better future. And that is why 'Sonrisas de Bombay' and Bergner continue to work together to make those dreams come true. Bergner works actively with Atades, Cooperación Internacionall, Sonrisas de Bombay, Europa Donna and Club Inclucina, among a grreat many other organisations.
