Meet part of the Sourcing team

Meet part of the Sourcing team
At Bergner, the Sourcing team, led by Marco Ottocento, is key to guaranteeing quality, availability and competitiveness in our product offering. Their work allows us to remain a global benchmark, ensuring that each customer has access to optimal solutions.

Apart from the three of you, what other colleagues do you consider relevant to the proper development of Sourcing work at Bergner?

Synergies with the collections, marketing, sales and logistics teams are fundamental to the success of the area. The coordinated work between these departments ensures that product strategies, commercial needs and distribution are fully aligned.

What are Bergner's strategic objectives in Sourcing and how do they fit with the company's global vision?

Being part of a globalized company with such a diverse customer base brings challenges for the supply chain, where the sourcing function is key. The needs of our customers, both in terms of assortment and time to market, make the development of suppliers at a global level a differential factor. Our goal is to ensure that customers can access Bergner products anywhere in the world, always in the best possible conditions.

What do you consider fundamental keys to maintaining good relations with suppliers?

The market has changed, and today the goal is to integrate suppliers as a strategic part of the supply chain. We seek to establish partnerships and make them participants in the needs of the end customer. Our business model, based on the constant creation of new products, requires us to maintain fluid and constant communication with our suppliers. If I had to sum it up in four key concepts, they would be: constant contact, transparency, alignment of objectives and mutual commitment.

How does Bergner ensure compliance with regulations in its relations with suppliers?

We have developed a Scoreboard that allows us to evaluate suppliers based on variables such as price, quality, delivery time and technical capacity. This helps us to select the best option for each customer and product. In addition, we have two quality teams, in China and Spain, who advise on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with all established regulations.

What market trends are driving sourcing decisions and what impact has Ambiente 2025 had?

Ambiente is the trendsetter worldwide. It is the meeting point for all the stakeholders in the sector and the showcase where the innovations that will mark consumption in the coming years are presented. Although tableware is a mature market with deep-rooted consumer habits, trends continue to play a key role. The main one in recent years has been the circular economy. Consumers are more aware and demand sustainable and safe materials, making them the main key drivers of the market.

Thank you William, Fernando and Conchy for sharing your vision and dedication at Bergner.
